Woman to Woman Tea

The annual Woman to Woman Tea is coming up Saturday, February 24 from 2-4 p.m. Woman to Woman is a mentoring/fellowship program between Christian women of different ages that meet for the purpose of friendship, prayer, and mutual growth in all areas of life. For more information and to register, see the Women of Grace table in The Commons.

Their guiding verse is Titus 2.3–5: "Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God."

Missions Conference

Missions Conference is coming up Sunday, February 25 at Grace. This is a great opportunity to learn about missions at Grace and be introduced to some of our missionaries. We will have food trucks after the second and third services. Meal tickets are available in The Commons for $5/person or $20/family of 4+ people.

We will also have break-out sessions with guest speakers during all three services.

Dr. Sukhwant Bhatia's ministries include formal and non-formal theological education and ministry training, evangelism, church planting, fresh Bible translations in Hindi and Punjabi languages and development of various resources for a variety of ministries in northwest India.

Dr. Celestin Musekura is the president of African Leadership and Reconciliation Ministries (ALARM), which exists to empower the African Church to impact the African continent by training and equipping pastors and church leaders with biblical and theological skills while developing ministry tools to nurture and deepen the Christian faith for the spiritual transformation, biblical forgiveness, and reconciliation of the African communities.

Raimie and Stephanie Bateman train impoverished pastors and their wives who lack access to education so that they can reach the masses of the poor in their country. They also raise and send missionaries to do the same. Finally, they are working to build the most financially transparent and efficient mission organization in the US.

East-West is a mission organization based in Dallas with one consuming passion—to make God known among every nation, every tribe, every tongue, and every people.

Parenting Equipping Seminar

Sunday, February 18, the Family Life class will be hosting special guest speaker Dr. Ha Vu. Dr. Vu will help parents explore the relationship between social media use and depression. Social media use is on the rise, and it is becoming more integrated into daily interactions. Learning more about this relationship can help us take preventative measures to help our children, and ourselves, use social media in a wise, healthy way.

Dr. Vu is board certified in Psychiatry and Psychosomatic Medicine. He completed his training at LSU-Ochsner Psychiatry Residency Program in 2014, and he is a member of the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine. Dr. Vu also has expertise working with the following areas: Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, and Social Anxiety Disorder. Given his additional training in Psychosomatic Medicine, he emphasizes a whole-person approach to treatment and care. He integrates both psychopharmacology and psychotherapy in his practice.

Thanks for helping us reach these students and teachers for Christ! If you have questions about donating or volunteering with Caillet, contact Kevin Goldsmith.

re:generation begins

We are excited to be launching re:generation at Grace in 2018. At some level we all experience brokenness. Re:generation is a biblically-based 12-step pathway intended to help people experience new life within a community of imperfect Christ-followers. Re:gen is not just for the addict, it’s for everyone stuck in sin. It's not about getting fixed; it’s about getting well through an intimate relationship with Jesus.

Re:generation will begin Tuesday, January 16 at Grace. The program meets weekly on Tuesday nights from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and takes about 11 months to complete.

If you would like more information, see the re:gen page on our website or contact Roger Pryor.
