How does Scripture help us bridge the tension of being the church in the world in light of the church’s mission? How do we extend a hand of invitation, while at the same time faithfully and respectfully representing the confrontation the gospel makes to every life and every culture? Saturday morning, April 22, Dr. Darrell Bock will be leading a seminar, Recalibrating the Culture War, at Grace from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost is $15, and you can register online.
The division in our nation is great and the position of the church is most delicate as people view the church through either a very positive or negative lens. Is this position inevitable in the world? Together we will explore these themes from a biblical base with an eye to the contemporary culture.
Darrell Bock is a Research Professor of New Testament Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary. He also serves as Executive Director of Cultural Engagement for the Seminary’s Center for Christian Leadership. His special fields of study involve hermeneutics, the use of the Old Testament in the New, Luke-Acts, the historical Jesus, gospel studies and the integration of theology and culture.
